More stories to tell..

Posted by hidayah

It has been 2 days since I updated my blog. Well, I am not that extremely busy yet, but since I don't have a laptop of my own, I'm kinda lay things off a 'lil bit. I currently get connected online with Zairi's laptop or Adik's brand new Gateway laptop. Besides, I get to update my blog whenever my Fatihah is asleep since now she likes to play around with the mouse and click here and there on the keyboard.

I try my best to write down every detail that I experienced everyday (well, I might try to spice up things here and there) to share with you guys out there. Those of you who know me in person will definitely agree that I am a storyteller (an enthusiactic one!) with every tiny weeny details and actions included. That's who I am and I enjoy telling stories to people. So there -- I'll do the same for this blog and if I forgot to mention some events of incidents, I'll include it in the other entries, so that you guys out there can follow and will be on the same page as I.

Enough of that. Now, back to me being a story teller -- last 2 days Zairi and I went to WalMart (while Adik babysit Fatihah) to get some stuff (Fatihah's new fleece jacket and pants - got a bunch of 'em and etc). By the way, here's my official uniform for the Winter --

Yeah... that's me -- happily waiting for the bus to go to WalMart

And that's my beloved hubby (told him he looks like those Pak Hitam when wearing a snowcap.. haha...)

Then at WalMart, while choosing Fatihah's fleece jackets and pants, I couldn't help myself noticing such a cute newborn sweater and I think it's the smallest I've ever seen --

Ain't those cute????

Anyway, something funny happened when we want to get home. Before we went to the checkout counter, I looked at the bus schedule to see when's the next bus coming. Before that, I glanced at my watch and it showed the time 07.00pm. The next bus is 07.13pm. We both quickly gathered our stuff after checking out and rushed for the nearest bus stop. There was a guy there waiting for the bus so we knew that we're good and the bus has not arrived.

We waited for awhile and the time is 7.25pm. I was wondering why the 7.13pm bus did not arrive on time, so I asked the guy at the bus stop.

Me: Is the 7.13 bus arrived?
Guy: I totally have no idea. I've been here 5 minutes before you guys arrived.
Me: Hmm..
Guy: Do you have the time?
Me: Yeah.. it's now 7.30pm.

The guy went around and looked at the scheduled listed on the bus stop and make a funny face. I was then still wondering how times fly so fast since we reached WalMart around 5pm. Zairi said we might have spend some time choosing Fatihah's stuff until we lost count on the time. Few minutes later, the long-awaited bus finally arrived. I straight away asked the driver --

Me: Is this the supposed-to-be 7.13pm bus?
Driver: Excuse me? This is the 5.32pm bus..
Me: Errr... (looked so confused)

Suddenly...

Me: Abg, I figured out something.
Zairi: Apanya?
Me: Jam ayg ikut waktu Malaysia laaaa
Zairi: Ha?? huhuhu... patutlah...
Me: No wonder the guy at the bus sto looked so confused.. and the driver, too... rupanya jam salah... (and I started to laugh my head off in the bus)

Moral of the story: Please reset your watch according to the place that you live. LOL

Now's another hilarious thing happened earlier -- Adik getting off the bus, walked in front of the bus and slipped. He landed on the ice, in a sitting position -- while the driver looked at him and smile.. Sooo kesian.. and I laughed my head off -- jahatkan aku.. haha... it's his 1st fall actually.. hehe...

On another note, I mentioned in my previous entry that I'm taking a Statistic class this semester -- it's not going to happen. I was asked to take it next semester since this semester there are offering it for the social sciences major.. Therefore I need to register for another 2 classes -- GPS and Automation for Project Controls and Computer Application in Project Control. I'm a dead meat. I have no clue on GPS stuff (ni ko punya bidang la Syidah!!!) and yet both of these courses starts early February. I already had pre-assignments lined up for the classes online and we need to get it done before the real classes starts. Not to mention a field trip in Altoona, Iowa on Feb 28th. How advanced are these people? Huhuhu.. Now let's see, with 2 classes already started and another 2 in February, I've got plenty in my hands right now..

Adik was complaining that his Chem class and Physics class were so advanced that there are so many things that need to be done -- prelab assignments, problem sets, online quizzes, reading assignments and the list continues... he was even thinking on dropping a class. He said that it was tough, and I responded saying that it's only a week of class and you're already complaining? Haha.. it's never the same learning here with learning back in Malaysia.. Nasib la dik... pandai2 la nak hidup... huhu...

What else that I'm up to? Car-hunting, of course... I'm looking for a reasonable car with good mileage.. it's hard to move around without a car since I'm with family.. so get my fingers crossed and hope I could get a good deal on a family car..

Oh.. and I got a desk space at the faculty :) I was asked by my advisor Dr Shane to come over next week and she'll show me...and on Monday it's a holiday here -- it's Martin Luther King's Day, so no class in session (Yay! Got a 3-day weekend). Tomorrow there is an orientation held by AMSISU (Association of Malaysian Students at Iowa State University) and Adik and I plan to attend it.

P/S: The weather now is not so bad as 2 days before (-21 degrees celcius) -- but it is still cold, though...
